Overseas Player. Our overseas player has arrived Amogh Pandit is 23 years old and comes from Mumbai in India. He has played for our club in 2 previous seasons in 1998 and 1997. He is a left arm pace or spin bowler who bats right handed. He plays a high standard of cricket for Goa in India. He will immensely strengthen our 1st XI. Amogh's hobbies are reading, playing the keyboard, sports and adventure tourism. He also speaks English, Hindi, Marathi and konkani.
Amogh has this to say about himself: "I am 23 years of age with a long cherished ambition of being part of the cricketing fraternity. I have been harbouring this ambition right from my childhood when I decided to take up cricket as my career. I have been part of the Goan Ranji team and also played for SACC in Hampshire, but I had to quit later on to fulfil certain prior commitments. But now my long cherished ambition has surfaced again and now I have decided to go for it. I have been working as a sports and personal fitness trainer and I would love to make my mark in this field. At present I am playing cricket for SACC again and I intend to pursue my sports and fitness training while in the UK. I am highly enthusiastic, persistent and have the willingness to work hard and long. I also have an agreeable personality and get along exceedingly well with people. Also the fact that I have been closely associated with cricketers over the years makes me more comfortable working with them. I will bring a delightful new interest, enthusiasm and efficiency to the job and that will of course mean more and better output for our cricketers." Amogh is a very good coach, as we discovered last time he was with the club. He will be working with our colts during their practice sessions. He will also be willing to coach privately. The cost will be £5 per hour per person for a group coaching session. Individual coaching will be available at a cost of £10 per hour or £5 for 30 minutes.
