3rd Team Captain's Report What a great season the team had this year, five back to back wins, a couple of silly defeats, but then they came bouncing back to get three more wins, this is the most wins in any one season for any 3rd team. WHAT CAN I SAY BUT WELL DONE. The team consisted of both experience and youth, but a couple of the players merit special mention:- Colin Knapp, the backbone of the batting, whenever Colin was not available it always seemed the batting failed, this is not a slur on anybody else, but an emphasis on his ability to bat, and is my own observation. Mickey "THE LEGEND" Brogan, using pace, a downhill slope, the wind in his back and a bit of that infamous spine, he delivered a ball that would put off any batsmen not knowing him.James "WALES" Davies, although Rugby is James’s number one sport and cricket had to take second place sometimes, James has all the qualities necessary to make a good cricketer and to advance up to the seconds or even all the way to the firsts. James "HYPER" Ingram, for his age probably the best up and coming pace bowler Sarisbury has and in my opinion he should be looking at a second team place next season.
These are just some of the players who played this season, but everybody involved contributed to the team’s performance this year and helped the 3rds have such a successful season. Thanks must be given to all the Umpires and Scorers that have assisted the 3rd Team over the season as their help takes an enormous strain off of the Captain of any side. My personal thanks therefore go to Umpire Steve Davies and any players that took over from him if he had to leave, and also to Scorers Penny Jones, Vicky Aspinall and Stephanie Orr. Thank you to everyone for their support over the season and I can only wish the new Captain continued success.
